BlackFinn Saloon becomes more than just burgers

15 Jul

I recently added a post to Creative Loafing’s Eat My Charlotte blog. BlackFinn Saloon, a restaurant on the outside of the Epicentre, just re-created their restaurant’s interior design and overhauled the menu. Operating Partner Gregg McConnell showed our group around the restaurant, and Culinary Director Mark Szymanski, formerly of Morton’s Steakhouse, gave us a run-down on some of the changes. We tried a bunch of different dishes, and I think BlackFinn has some really swanky takes on sports bar food.
Here’s some extra photos of some of the things we tried, and some shots of the reworked inside.

Blackened Brie: a breaded and spicy Brie cheese paired with a mint cranberry chutney

Ying Yang shrimp, a best-seller featuring fried shrimp in a sweet sauce with scallions
